Travel Tips

Time Zone

Puerto Rico uses Atlantic Standard Time throughout the year, with no Daylight-Saving Time, due to how close it is to the Equator.  During PowerSchool President's Club 2022, Puerto Rico will be 3 hours ahead of Pacific Standard Time.

Packing Tips

Do not pack any valuable items in luggage you plan to check.  Your photo ID, travel documents, tickets, cash, jewelry, medications, etc. should always be kept with you in a carry-on bag.  Please do not pack any nail files, pocketknives, other sharp objects, or liquids in your carry-on bags.  The hotel rooms include a hair dryer, ironing board, and in-room safe.

Weather

The climate in Puerto Rico is warm and tropical (i.e., expect an afternoon shower during the summer months). The temperature varies between 70- and 80-degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year.

Currency

The currency used in Puerto Rico is the U.S. dollar.

No Passport Needed for U.S. Travelers

Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens do not require a passport to enter the Island. However, they must always travel with a valid ID.
