ATV
The Kohala Ditch Trail is an extraordinary journey along the unique windswept coastline of North Kohala. Our trail traces the old railroad path, which once serviced our bustling sugar industry. Riding through private ranchlands and pastures to the coast, the Historical Ocean Trail is an enjoyable ride that is easy for every level of rider. Along the way, your knowledgeable local guides share the genuine history of Old Hawai’i. Relax and enjoy refreshments at a beautiful and secluded pebbled beach, once favored by King Kamehameha (Kamehameha the Great). It is still a haven for surfers. Continue your journey into the Kohala Mountain and ride along the unique Kohala Ditch system. The trail rewards riders with breathtaking scenery of the rugged Kohala coastline cliffs jutting out into the sea and sweeping countryside and open spaces.

Golf
Fairmont Orchid is adjacent to the award-winning Francis H. I'i Brown Golf Course, offering 36 holes of continuous play, and is consistently lauded as one of the world's top golf resorts by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The courses have two distinct 18-hole complexes, the south and north course, each capturing unique characteristics of the Hawaii Island landscape. Both courses will satisfy every level, appealing to the recreational golfer and ready to be tightened up to meet the demands of tournament play.
Helicopter Tours
Take a helicopter tour of the Kohala coast, valleys, and waterfalls. Many consider this area to have the most spectacular scenery on the Big Island. The towering sea cliffs open into the dramatically deep and meandering valleys of the Kohala Mountains. Beautiful waterfalls cascade thousands of feet into the rainforest below and remnants of ancient Hawaiian settlements are still visible.
Rafting/Snorkeling
Our destination is Kealakekua Bay Marine Preserve and the site of the Captain Cook Monument. This area is one of Hawaii’s premier snorkel spots with incredible visibility and calm conditions. Kealakekua Bay is full of Hawaiian history and the events will be recounted by the crew while you enjoy our tropical snack of fresh pineapple and fruit, chips, cookies and assortment of refreshing soft drinks. Our captains are experts at spotting pods of dolphins, humpback whales and other marine mammals and Zodiac rafts are the best way to see them. Get ready for close up views of the sea caves, lava tubes, blowholes and archways as you explore the rugged coastline.
