Denver, Colorado

Denver, the capital of Colorado, is an American metropolis dating to the Old West era.  Not only is Denver rich in western history, but there is also plenty to see and do. For more information on local Denver attractions, click here

Denver is nicknamed the Mile High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile (5,280 feet or 1,609.3 meters) above sea level. Due to the city's higher elevation, the air can be much thinner and dryer than areas with lower elevations. With the higher elevation, altitude sickness can occur. However, with a few simple steps, altitude sickness can be avoided. To learn about these steps and prepare for your Denver visit, click here.
